Embracing Change through Resilience & Transformation in the Post-COVID-19 World

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

On Saturday July 16, 2022, the Skeena Summit Academic Research Forum will sponsor a conference to be held at Kansai at Kwansei Gakuin University, Nishinomiya Uegahara campus. This event will be an international hybrid (on-line and in-person) conference addressing the theme of how academics, professionals, volunteers and students can embrace the  changes wrought in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic.  The approach is interdisciplinary, including diverse areas such as  Education, Culture, Commerce, HealthLeadership, and Climate Change. Presenters are encouraged to present research, practical techniques, and motivational stories based on personal experiences that exemplify resilience & transformation of their fields in the post-COVID-19 context.


There is no charge for participating in the  conference. 

Selected papers will be included in a post-conference publication.

Schedule of Events

This academic gathering is set up to embrace new ideas by employing some of  the newest forms of dissemination. The conference will be held live in July, but there will also be the option of pre-recording presentation sessions or presenting them on-line, synchronously, via Zoom.  Throughout the conference the sessions will all be recorded and shared on our website, so that they will all be available well into the future. We welcome educators along with scholars to share ideas and research that they have been working on that highlights how they are moving into the post-pandemic world. This is an interdisciplinary conference, so we are expecting a wide range of topics that we can all learn from. 

This one-day Conference and Exhibition will feature:

  • Welcoming Speech  (Conference Chair)

  • KEYNOTE ADDRESS​

    • Saul Takahashi​

  • Plenary Speech 

    • Michael C. Boyce, “Transformative Education and Support of Global Youth Through Micro-Activism and Social Learning Spaces”

  • Presentations on Global Education and Overseas Study Opportunities

    • Various presentations led by Directors of leading colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Switzerland. Each college or university representative will present for 15 minutes (live or pre-recorded).

Canada: Canada West University, York University, Algoma College

U.S.: The University at Albany (SUNY), The University of Findlay (Ohio), the University of Northern Ohio, Pace University (New York City), Sacred Heart University (Connecticut), University of Delaware, Tennessee Tech University, Savannah College of Art and Design

New Zealand: University of Canterbury, Otago University

Switzerland: Swiss Education Group (Hospitality and Hotel Management Universities)


  • Breakout sessions

    • Individual presenters will deliver their presentation in two breakout rooms. There will be morning and afternoon breakout sessions. Presentations will be divided into various categories by topic and mode of delivery: in- person, online live, or  asynchronous/on-demand

Those interested in participating by sharing their research, please submit a 250 word abstract, a title, names of presenters and affiliations. Also, please indicate the type of participation:

Post-conference Publishing opportunities:

Selected speakers and participants will have an opportunity to have their work published as a book chapter in a post-conference book.
