About

My name is Bernadette Niyoyitungira, a Burundian female and a student from
Summit International Institute Bujumbura. I am an intern in Burundi Investment
Promotion Authority and I major Hospitality and Tourism. I am sportive female
with physical disability (amputee), I play sitting volleyball and do swimming.
My career goal is to work in tourism organization to bring a sustainable
development in the country.

Summit International Institute is located in the economic city of Bujumbura and
two hours away from the political city Gitega. Burundi, which is the country, is
mainly called the Heart of Africa. The institution has five departments which are
Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology, Monitoring and Evaluation,
Entrepreneurship and Architecture with exchange programs, Bachelors and
Master’s degree courses. From its start, it has drawn a positive line of difference
towards students’ growth mindset to change, to being self-reliant and being wise
leaders to excel.

Our country has many touristic places and investment opportunities in different
sectors and as you visit, you enjoy the special Burundian food and the air of the
Lake Tanganyika.
