A few notes on the course:
In order to get a certificate you must do 10 classes of the coursework after watching the lectures. You must get a 60% average of your work in those.
However, if you are just interested in joining, then please do so.
One thing to note is that everything will be locked, so you must be registered in order to access the classroom as well as the Zoom meetings. Also, please remember that if you cannot attend during that time Zoom lectures will be recorded and put onto YouTube. As much of this work can be done asynchronously, which means not during the class, then it is possible to join.
Please do not give or request any private information from other students. So, in the first class we will ask you to do a self-introduction, and add lots of information but do not give your private email or other contact details.

Today the summer seminar series seminar begins!
The seminar will be held in Zoom. The Zoom meeting details are below.

Please note that you MUST register. After registering once, you will be able to join any of the meetings. When registering, please write your full name and email address. You must also join Zoom and be logged in order to attend the seminar. Google Classroom 【ztxmqx2】PLEASE JOIN BOTH
We will also be using Google Classroom for online work and discussion. In the orientation class, we will provide you with the code so that you can join the Classroom. Please make sure you have a gmail address. If you don’t have one, please make one before the class and be ready to log into Google.
The classes are from 4-5:30pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from August 10 to September 11. The lecture will be from 4-5pm, followed by 30 minutes of discussion. There will also be discussion questions that you are expected to answer on the Google Classroom discussion board, and a final assignment.
Remember that you do not have to attend every lecture, in order to get the certificate (you must attend, or watch 75% of the lectures - either live or on YouTube and participate). In addition, you don’t need to do all the assignments if you just want to join as an audit student.
On the discussion boards, please remain polite and respectful of all other students' opinions and language abilities. There are different cultures that are joining and you should please keep in mind that. Also, use only English when communicating on the discussion boards or with each other. We would like students to only communicate with each other in the discussion classroom and not privately. You will receive at least one survey, and would like you to fill any out that you receive.
We will keep you up-to-date through email regarding the classes and what is going on as well as hoping that you continue to contribute to the discussion boards.
It is shaping up to be a very interesting program, we are sure you will enjoy it.
